More expensive doesn’t equal better hosting

In the past there were much fewer companies offering fewer resources (less space, bandwidth), however today there are many more companies  meeting the demand for superior and cheap web hosting. Most new webmasters don’t realize that all they need is an inexpensive shared hosting plan for their site(s). They think they need to spend a large amount of money on hosting to get more space, more bandwidth, and 99.9% uptime, and that they can only get these if they buy an expensive plan. But this is no longer the case as hosting companies are constantly offering cheap hosting packages with the same resources as more expensive plans. Nowadays you can easily find plans with unlimited bandwidth and diskspace, emails, and even a free domain or transfer of one.

How to make hosting cheaper?

Another way to make your hosting even cheaper is by signing up for a longer period of time. If you’re happy with the web hosting company, you have no reason not to choose a longer plan for 12, 24, or 36 months. The longer the plan, the cheaper the price is per month.

Make sure you know what you really need from your hosting package. The reason shared hosting plans are so cheap is because you share the cost of the server with other users. If you only have a small business with one site and a blog, that’s all you need. There’s no reason to consider purchasing a dedicated server or VPS (virtual private server). If you do you’ll be wasting a lot of money when you could’ve had a much cheaper hosting plan all along.
