Reliability & Uptime
The company owns two data centers in Illinois, one in Chicago and one in Elk Grove. Their Chicago center is equipped with over 2,000 servers, redundant N+1 power, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning). Their suburban facility is even larger at 10,000sq.ft. featuring ultra-redundant power and HVAC to ensure an appropriate environment for servers. Between their 2 data centers, SingleHop has more than 9,000 dedicated servers so that users can easily design, deploy, and begin managing their dedicated hosting within an hour via SingleHop’s platform LEAP. All servers come with a 100% uptime guarantee.
SingleHop offers 24×7 technical support via a ticket system and telephone for all their hosting solutions, even those that aren’t managed. You can call toll-free at (866) 817-2811 ext.1 or direct at (312) 447-2589 ext.1. If you use the ticket system a representative will get back to you within 30 minutes. For sales & billing support, you can chat with a sales representative. Customers can also refer to SingleHop’s online community forum for additional questions. At this time, there does not seem to be a knowledgebase.
Their dedicated servers start from $99-$389/month depending on the resources chosen. The cheapest dedicated server is the ATOM 330 that comes with 250 GB HDD, 2 GB RAM, and 10 TB bandwidth. If you’d like this as a managed server, the price rises to $149/month. The cheapest hosting available from SingleHop is their public cloud hosting starting from $50/month. Users can customize their own servers, choosing their own storage (disk space), memory (RAM), and CPU. Their default server starts with 2.4Ghz, 1GB memory, and 25GB storage. The more resources you want, the more costly it is per month. Private cloud hosting is much more similar to dedicated hosting, but with less to manage since it’s in a cloud environment. This service, also referred to as, dynamic servers, starts from $182/month with 10TB bandwidth, 4 GB RAM, and 250 GB HDD (hard disk drive). All their servers are completely customizable and priced accordingly.
SingleHop offers a wide range of brand-name technology including numerous processors from Intel, Linux and Windows servers, control panels from cPanel and PLESK and virtualization containers from Parallels Virtuozzo.
